Benefits of Olive Oil

Olives are amongst the blessed foods. Mentioned six times in the Quran, it has many benefits and uses that we should start paying more attention to.

Allah said:

“Lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire.” (24:35)

At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah narrated that Abu Hurairah related from the Prophet SAW that he said: 

“Eat the Zait and use it as an ointment because it is produced by a blessed tree.”

Al-Bayhaqi and Ibn Majah also narrated that Abdullah Umar RA said that the prophet saw. said:

“Eat oil and use it as an ointment because it is from a blessed tree (olive tree).”






Here are some health benefits of olive oil:

1. It improves the digestive process: It acts like a mild laxative. It softens the stool and can relieve your constipation.

2. Beneficial to the skin: Olive oil softens and hydrates the skin and because of its antioxidant content it helps slow down the aging process. 

3. Improves oral health: Olive oil strengthens the gums; it cleans and provides the essential vitamins to the gums and also helps against bleeding and swollen gums.
