Benefits of Vinegar

بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

The standard white vinegar you'd see in the kitchen is 4-8% acetic acid and 92-96% water. It's an ingredient you'd see in just about any kitchen worldwide for thousands of years, and for good reason.

Muslim narrated in his Sahih that Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The messenger of Allah asked his wife for food, and she said that I have vinegar. He asked for some of it and started eating from it while saying: “What an excellent food vinegar is.”

In this article, we’ll be discussing some of the benefits of vinegar.

1. It is a natural remedy for toothaches: When one rinses their mouth with vinegar, it helps relieve toothaches and strengthens the gums. It is a natural antiseptic and has anti-inflammatory properties. Since it is also acidic in nature, it kills the bacteria in our mouth which leads to toothaches.

2. Can treat skin infections and burns: Highly diluted acetic acid is an active ingredient in vinegar. It has been shown to be effective against infections and killing bacteria found in burn wounds.

3. It improves the digestion process: Vinegar helps support proper digestion and our immune system. Studies show that fermented foods like vinegar block enzymes that help digest starch and leave enough starch to promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria.
